KUUMBA
The Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts will host KUUMBA (creativity) on November 26- 27, 2008 from 10 am - 5 pm daily on the lawns of the Centre. KUUMBA (creativity) is the Art/Craft Market Place which will combine with a Christmas sale this year.
Institutions such as School of Hope and Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre's 'Monex' Department will be at the Market Place. These institutions cater to individuals with varying special needs, so it is important to encourage their creativity in order that these institutions can continue to offer a 'wholesome' existence to these persons. A wide array of products will be on sale including jewellery, pastry, leather items, plants, artwork, craft items, clothing and mobile phones.
Also on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 1.00 pm there will be a free Lunch Hour Concert in the theatre at the Philip Sherlock Centre featuring items from the Multicare Foundation's Performing Arts Programme. This is the Foundation's Annual Children's Christmas Concert which features schools in Kingston and St. Catherine. These students will entertain the campus community through song, dance, poetry, and music.
