Philip Sherlock Lecture
“Visualizing the Oral Tradition through Film” is the title of this year’s Philip Sherlock Lecture which will be delivered by Natalie Thomson, Executive Director of Cinecom Productions Limited. The Lecture takes place on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at pm at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI, Mona.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The lecture is a part of the inaugural International Arts Festival being staged by the Centre from February 16 until March 8. Upcoming Festival activities include: a Lunch Hour Concert on Thursday, February 26 at 1 pm with Joan Andrea Hutchinson and the Art of Steel on March 1 at 6 pm, a recital of art music by Caribbean composers performed by the UWI Panoridim. The Festival culminates with Jamaica Dance Umbrella on March 6-8 at 7:30 pm featuring several dance companies such as: NDTC, Movements Dance Company and Stella Maris. Cost is $800 per night, season tickets $2000 and students $500 each night.
