ICT Awareness Workshop

The Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication, UWI, Mona and Caribbean Academy of Science will host an Information Communication Technology Awareness Workshop on March 18-19, 2009 at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre.

The Workshop is deigned to bring together relevant government official, researchers, policy makers, technocrats from the European Union delegation and the Caribbean to discuss the various opportunities that exists under the FP& Programme. The FP7 EuroAfriCa-ICT project is aimed at promoting and supporting the development of the strategic cooperation on ICT research between Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, and with the Caribbean.

The WINDS-Caribe project aims at deepening strategic Research and Development cooperation between Europe and the Caribbean by building a multinational and multi-stakeholder community involving relevant research and development European and Caribbean actors (researchers, policy makers, users) and by identifying common needs, research issues and opportunities for cooperative research and development between the two regions, setting the basis for the formulation of a common strategy for future research.
