Healthy Heart Campaign: BEAT 4 Life

Jordanne Hunter, final year Public Relations student at the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), UWI, Mona will host a heart disease booth on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 between 10 am and 2 pm at the Undercroft, UWI, Mona.
The booth is a part of the BEAT 4 Life (Be Empowered And get Tested) campaign that is designed to tackle the issue of heart disease. Heart diseases are among the leading causes of death in Jamaica. It can start during childhood and manifest itself later in one’s life. Young people, who engage in unhealthy habits, need to realize that their current lifestyles can increase their risk of developing heart disease in the future.
The booth provides information geared toward the youth at UWI, Mona about heart diseases and healthy lifestyle practices.
