“2009/10 Fiscal Budget”

The Department of Economics at the University of West Indies, Mona will host a panel discussion on the recently tabled 2009-2010 Fiscal Budget on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 5:30 pm at the Chemistry Lecture (Chem 5), UWI, Mona. The following broad areas will be discussed: Estimates of Expenditures; Revenue Measures and Tax Administration Reform; The size of government debt and its implications; and Implications of the Budget for the Macro-economy.
The aim of the panel discussion is to analyze the entire set of policy proposals and projections, shed light on the key issues of the Fiscal Budget, spark debate, and divulge proposals that may have future influences on budget policies.
