UWI Mona Campus, Culture and Heritage Tour
The campus community is being advised that when entertaining visitors from abroad or planning conference schedules, to think of including 'The UWI Mona Campus, Culture and Heritage Tour.' The tour is an excellent opportunity for visitors to get a real feel of the Mona campus, and see a side of Jamaican history and culture not offered elsewhere. It features the campus' two national heritage sites, as well as several other spots of cultural and historic importance.
Guests will hear about the Mona Campus' years as the Hope and Papine sugar plantations, as a refugee camp in World War II and the UWI's founding and early years, while viewing the actual artifacts still existing on campus from each of these periods.
The 'UWI Mona Campus, Culture and Heritage Tour DVD', available in the UWI Bookstore and at the Business Development Office, also makes a great parting gift and is perfect for those who do not have the time to experience a physical tour.
