Swine Influenza Advisory
The University Community is advised to be on the alert. Swine Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory disease originally found in pigs and now reported in humans.
Jamaica is at risk for the spread of this disease and particularly so for the University Community due to the frequent movement of persons within the region. Your cooperation is required in adhering to the following guidelines:-
(a) Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use a sanitizer.
(b) Contact your health provider if you are experiencing severe flu symptoms, especially if you have travelled abroad recently or have been in contact with persons who have travelled to countries known to have documented cases of Swine Influenza.
(c) Last but not least DO NOT PANIC. Monitor media reports closely.
