The School of Education at the University of the West Indies, Mona and the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on educational measurement. The Signing takes place on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10 am at the Open Campus Learning Resource Centre (OCLRC) Conference Room formerly UWI Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC) located on the Mona Campus.

The Memorandum seeks to establish and develop research collaboration between the institutions in educational measurement in keeping with national and regional developmental needs. Additionally the MOU will see the CXC providing greater research assistance through grants and facilitating access to relevant research data to UWI. It will also entail provision of training and research opportunities for CXC staff at the postgraduate level.
