Science Camp at the University of the West Indies Geology Museum
The University of the West Indies Geology Museum (UWIGM) will be running a Science Camp for children aged 8-12 from Monday August 10 through Friday August 21. There will be daily activities from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. covering topics such as Volcanoes & Earthquakes, Rock identification and building rock collections, Fossil identification and experiments, Mapping techniques using hand held G.P.S. Units, The geology of the Mona Campus and Weather & Climate Change.
The daily camp will expose students to the fundamentals of the earth and environmental sciences using field trips, museum excursions, hands-on lab experiments, computer packages and exercises using the World Wide Web.
The price of the 2 week camp will be $3500.00 ($3000.00 each for more than one child from the same household).
