The University of the West Indies, Mona Orientation 2009 starts on Monday, August 24 at 10 a.m. with an Opening Ceremony at the Assembly Hall, UWI, Mona. The exercise continues until Thursday, August 27, 2009 and will entail interesting discussions, campus tours, rap sessions, sporting and other recreational activities and a Freshers’ Fete. All first year students are invited to attend.

The Orientation activities are designed to familiarize first year students with the University campus, student development programmes and activities and to assist students in adjusting to university experience.

Orientation 2009 will also feature a special session for parents and/or spouses of first year students on Sunday, August 23 at the Assembly Hall, UWI, Mona at 9 a.m. For more information on Orientation please telephone 977-3880. Details will also appear in the press.

UWI, Mona also hosts a special Orientation session for students entering the new Weekend School in the Faculty of Social Sciences on Saturday, August 22 at 9 a.m. at the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre.
