Distinguished Lecture

The Department of Medicine, UWI, Mona hosts the annual Professor Eric Cruickshank Distinguished Lecture on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 5 pm at the Main Medical Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Medical Sciences located at the University Hospital of the West Indies.
The lecture is entitled, “The Genesis and Evolution of Renal Replacement Therapy in the Caribbean” and will be delivered by Professor George Nicholson, Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, UWI, Cave Hill.
The Lecture will explore issues related to chronic renal failure which is often a consequence of high blood pressure and diabetes mellitus. It further addresses the development of treatment and infrastructure in the Caribbean for dealing with chronic renal diseases and the contribution of UWI in this area.
Professor Nicholson is renowned nephrologist who has been at the forefront in renal replacement treatment in the Caribbean.
