SALISES Launches Flagship Research Project, “Fifty-Fifty”

The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) at UWI, Mona launches its flagship research project entitled Fifty-Fifty: Critical Reflections in a Time of Uncertainty An Appraisal of the First Fifty Years of Independence and Prospective for the next Fifty Years in the Commonwealth Caribbean: the Jamaican Experience. The Launch takes place on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10 am at the SALISES Conference Room 1.
The Fifty /Fifty Project takes an interdisciplinary research approach that examines Jamaica’s progress since independence exploring the achievements and challenges faced by Jamaica in its fifty years as an independent nation. The Project will take a retrospective and prospective review into Jamaica’s progress from an economic, cultural, social and political perspective.
The university community and the public are invited to attend.
