World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2010

The Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (OESH) Programme at UWI, Mona will collaborate with the Jamaica Occupational Health Professional Association (JOHPA) to host an exhibition, workshop and mini-symposium to mark World Day for Safety and Health at Work on Wednesday, April 28. The day’s celebration is themed, “Emerging risks and new patterns of prevention in a changing world of work”.
An exhibition will be mounted at 1:30 pm at Rooms C6 and C7 in the Department of Chemistry to mark the day and will be followed by a workshop at 2 pm at the same venue. The workshop addresses several topics such as “Demystifying the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Managing Risk in Your Workplace and Accidents are No Accidents. The keynote address at the Mini-Symposium at 5:30 pm will be delivered by Dr. Benjamin Alli, Director, OHK Management Consultant and Retired Technical Cooperation and Advisory Services Coordinator for the ILO/ HIV/ AIDS Global Programme.
