Cricket Celebs To Face Off UWI Students In Triple P 20/20

Students at the University of the West Indies are preparing to face cricket legends including the Honourable Courtney Walsh and Jimmy Adams and other noteworthy personalities such as Trinidadian Minister of Education, Senator the Honourable Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, in a friendly 20/20 "Triple P" cricket match on October 2 at 12 noon at the UWI, Mona Bowl. .
The Alumni team lead by Courtney Walsh will also include university officials such as University Registrar, Mr. William Iton and Director of Sports, UWI Cave Hill, Mr. Roland Butcher.. The UWI student team will consist of members of the UWI cricket team, members of the Mona Guild of Students and representatives from various student organizations and associations.
The friendly match organized by the UWI Stat Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (UWI STAT) Vice Chancellor’s Ambassadors is designed to strengthen student and alumni relations and raise funds for the UWI Mona Regional Endowment Fund and student empowerment project, ‘FOOTPRINTS’. For the latter the funds will go to a Mona project selected by students.
The event is geared toward entertainment for all ages and will include a bouncing castle and mascots, merchandise for sale such as Pete the Pelican, giveaways, promotions and entertainment by MC Garth Williams and DJs Kambon Mason and Kriss Cross of News Talk 93 FM. Admission is free.
