UWI Triple P 20/20 Celebrity Cricket Match Postponed

The UWI Triple P 20/20 Cricket Match slated for October 2 has been postponed to Saturday, November 27. The Match will see students at the University of the West Indies facing off with cricket legends including the Honourable Courtney Walsh and Jimmy Adams and other noteworthy personalities such as  Trinidadian Minister of Education, Senator the Honourable Dr. Tim Gopeesingh,  in a friendly 20/20 "Triple P" cricket match at the UWI, Mona Bowl. 

The Alumni team lead by Courtney Walsh will also include university officials such as University Registrar, Mr. William Iton and Director of Sports, UWI Cave Hill, Mr. Roland Butcher. The UWI student team will include Maurice Campbell, former UWI cricketer, members of the UWI cricket team, the Mona Guild of Students and representatives from various student organizations and associations. The day will see two matches with UWI celebrities playing against the Mona Guild and Celebrity Team and Alumni vs UWI cricket team and other student representatives.

The friendly matches are organized by the UWI Stat Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (UWI STAT) Vice Chancellor’s Ambassadors. The event is designed to strengthen student and alumni relations and raise funds for the UWI Mona Regional Endowment Fund and student empowerment project, ‘FOOTPRINTS’.  For the latter the funds will go to a Mona project selected by students.

Admission is free. UWI staff, students, alumni and friends are invited to the event.
