UWI, Mona Hosts Peter Tosh Symposium

The Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work at the UWI, Mona hosts a Peter Tosh Symposium in celebration of the life and legacy of Peter Tosh and as part of the national heritage celebrations staged by the Mona Campus. The Symposium is being held under the theme, The Man, The Music and The Message: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of a true Musical Icon, Peter Tosh. The event takes place on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 6 pm at Undercroft, to celebrate the anniversary of Peter Tosh’s birthday.
The panelists will include: Dr. Clinton Hutton, Lecturer, Department of Government, UWI, Mona, Copeland Forbes, former manager for Peter Tosh and Ras Miguel Lorne, musicologist, attorney at law, and President of the Marcus Garvey People’s Political Party. As part of the Symposium there will also be a special exclusive preview of a forthcoming documentary on Peter Tosh, entitled “Peter Uppa Pan Top” directed by Kereen Karim.
