UWI, Mona Western Jamaica Campus Public Relations Class Stage Career Expo

“Create. Innovate. Elevate” is the theme of the career expo being hosted by the 2011 Cohort of Public Relations students at the UWI, Mona Western Jamaica Campus. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Orville Taylor, UWI, Mona Lecturer, Department of Psychology, Sociology and Social Work and Host, Hotline on RJR 94 FM. The Expo takes place on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 10 am at the UWI, Mona-Western Jamaica Campus Multi Purpose Court and Pavilion.
The Expo will feature presentations from communication practitioners and displays on the various career opportunities in the field. Presentations will also be made highlighting career opportunities in the following: Digital Media Production, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism and Studio Engineering.
The Expo is aimed at exposing participants to career opportunities available in the communication field and to showcase the marketability and variety that the field affords. The focus on Careers in Communication is expected to bring greater appreciation of the work of CARIMAC, its impact on society and the vital role that communication plays in all spheres of life. Communication Work: Expo 2010 is being undertaken by the Cohort of 2011, Public Relations students in partial fulfillment of Advanced Public Relations course requirements.
The university community and the public especially secondary school students are invited.
