The University of the West Indies, Mona through the Department of Life Sciences will host the first International Symposium on Tropical Horticulture from November 23-26, 2010 at the Jamaica Pegasus. The Symposium features special presentations by local, regional and international experts. The event will feature presentations on a range of topics including: Irrigation and Pest Management, Technology of Tropical Crops, Biotechnology and Processing of Tropical Crops and Small Farming. 

The event is designed to promote knowledge exchange, share best practices in the production of tropical crops and build linkages between specialists, practitioners, farmers and other industry experts.
