Haitian Libraries and Archives Seminar

The University of the West Indies, Mona hosts a presentation on the University's Assistance Programme to Haitian Libraries and Archives following the January 12 Earthquake as part of the UWI, Mona-Haiti Initiative. The presentation takes place on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 3:30 pm at the Multifunctional Room, Main Library, UWI.
The presenters will include: John Aarons, University Archivist, Dunstan Newman and David Brown of the UWI, staff members of the Mona Main Library. They will share on the preservation challenges facing the National Library and National Archives of Haiti based on their visit there to conduct training courses. Additionally, Mr. Andieuvil Blanc, a librarian from the National Library of Haiti, now on attachment at the UWI, Mona Library will share on the Challenges from the Haitian Library’s Perspective. Dr. Matthew Smith, Director of the Initiative at UWI, Mona will also make a presentation on the occasion on UWI, Mona’s assistance to Haiti.
The university community and the public are invited to attend.
