Descendant of Confucius Delivers Anniversary Lecture at UWI, Mona

Professor Kung Hsiang-te, descendant of Confucius, great scholar, teacher, philosopher and social thinker in China, will deliver the second anniversary lecture of the Confucius Institute at UWI, Mona. The Lecture takes place under the theme, “The Emerging China from a Geographic Perspective” on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.at the Inter-Faculty Lecture Theatre, UWI, Mona. He is also Professor of Earth Sciences at Memphis University.


In his Lecture Professor Kung will examine the challenges and resources necessary for the development of China. He will also provide a comparative analysis of the cost of development in China and contrast China with other developed and developing nations while examining the factors that influence such development. He will also delve into the role of politicians in modern China.
