The twentieth staging of the annual Career Expo being held at UWI, Mona on February 24-25, 2011 will focus on the theme, “Entrepreneurship: Roadmap to Personal Success and National Transformation.” The Expo will commence with an Opening Ceremony on February 24 at 9:30 am at the Undercroft. The guest speaker will be Samuel Coates, President, Young Entrepreneurship Association (YEA).

The official opening of the booth displays which will feature a range of organizations including young entrepreneurs stationed in the Assembly Hall following the Opening Ceremony.

The event provides an opportunity for secondary school students to gain valuable career information and for patrons to be exposed to the range of entrepreneurial possibilities and to network. The two day event will also feature the third staging of the Job Fair on Friday, February 25 which is geared providing UWI final year students with a real life experience of an interview and networking opportunities. There will also be an Entrepreneurship Symposium held on February 25 at 3 pm at the Undercroft. The Symposium will feature a panel including: Winsome Halliman, CEO, WinLee Group of Companies, Douglas Lindo, CEO, Bellindo Iron Works and Part-time Lecturer at the Mona School of Business, UWI and Kamal Bankay, Promoter/ Events Organizer, Dream Team.

The event is targeted particularly at tertiary and secondary students, guidance counsellors, teachers and private and public sector representatives. This event is the highlight of the Career Month activities organized by the Office of Placement and Career Services which also includes annual Mock Interviews set for February 17-18.
