Public Forum at UWI, Mona Explores Skin Bleaching Phenomenon in Dancehall

The Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work at UWI, Mona will host a public forum entitled, “From Lye to Cake Soap: Addressing Skin Bleaching in the Dancehall and Beyond.” Dr. Imani Tafari-Ama, author of the book, "Blood, Bullets and Bodies" and Ms. Annie Paul, Senior Publications Officer, Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), UWI, Mona will make the address on this occasion. The Forum takes place on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 6 pm at the Neville Hall Lecture Room (N4).

The event is a part of the Black History month celebrations. The last event in these Celebrations will be a public forum exploring the topic of African Heritage and Natural Beauty on Monday, February 28.
