The Department of Library and Informational Studies at UWI Mona will this summer offer a course on Copyright Issues Affecting Caribbean Libraries and Information Services from June 9 to July 25. The course is designed to help build the capacity of libraries to develop and implement copyright policies. It will focus on the impact of copyright conventions, treaties and legislation on the delivery of library and information services in the Caribbean. It will also explore the special impact of information technology and the development of balance between copyright laws and access to information. Students will also learn how to identify and resolve copyright problems in libraries and information services.
