Leonard Howell Rastafari Symposium

The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in conjunction with the Leonard Howell Foundation, host a two day symposium on Leonard Howell, a principal founder of the Rastafari movement on the occasion of the anniversary of his 113th Earthday. The Symposium begins on Friday, June 17 at 7 pm at the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre. Attorney at Law, Miguel Lorne will deliver the keynote address on this occasion.
The Symposium continues with presentations from a range of experts including Monty Howell, one of Leonard Howell’s sons, UWI academics- Dr. Clinton Hutton, Dr. Michael Barnett, Dr. Jahlani Niaah, Dr. K’adamawe K’nife, and Louis Moyston, of Leonard Howell Foundation. The Symposium will address several themes such as: “Pinnacle under the watch of Leonard Howell and Pinnacle Now,” “The Rastafari Movement Pre-Pinnacle and Post-Pinnacle,” and “An Analysis of Leonard Howell as the First Rasta.”
All are invited. Admission is free.
