UWI, Mona Hosts Seminar on the Financial Regulatory Regime in Jamaica

The Department of Government at UWI, Mona presents the first seminar in its Departmental/Graduate Research Seminar Series for the 2011/2012 academic year on Thursday, October 21, 2011 at 2:30 pm at SR4, UWI, Mona. The Lecture is entitled, “The Adequacy of the Financial Regulatory Regime in Post Colonial State: The Case of Jamaica". Ms. Shirley-Ann Eaton, lecturer and attorney-at-law will deliver the Lecture on this occasion.
The presentation seeks to examine the adequacy of financial regulation and regulatory practices against the background of changes and difficulties in Jamaica's financial system during the three distinct periods of differing economic development approaches, namely: the late 1950's to 1972; 1972 to 1980; and 1980 to the present.
