UWI, Mona Career Expo and Job Fair Provides Map for the Future

“Mapping Your Future: Transforming Jamaica” is the theme of the 21st annual Career Expo being hosted by the Office of Placement and Career Services at UWI, Mona. The Expo commences with an Opening Ceremony on February 23 at 10.00 a.m. at the Undercroft, UWI, Mona.  Shadow Spokesman on Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Investment, Senator, Dr. Christopher Tufton will be the guest speaker on this occasion. The two day event which runs from February 23 to 24, 2012 will see over forty (40) companies participating through booth displays at the Assembly Hall, UWI, Mona.

The Expo provides an opportunity for UWI, secondary, school and tertiary school students to gain valuable career information and network with potential employees especially in the case of final year tertiary students. There will also be a Job Fair on Friday, February 24 as part offering which is geared towards providing UWI final year students with a real life experience of an interview and networking opportunities.

The Career Expo and Job Fair is the culminating event in the Career Month activities organized by the Office of Placement and Career Services. Other events which took place during February include: Dressing Appropriately and Workplace Ethics Workshop, Mock Interviews and a Debate.
