Special Issue of Critical Arts Journal Dedicated to Late UWI Professors

A Special Issue of the Critical Arts: South – North Cultural and Media Studies Journal will be launched on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the Undercroft, UWI, Mona. This Special Issue is dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Ralston “Rex” Nettleford and Professor Alston “Barry” Shepherd. The Issue is edited by UWI Professors, Rupert Lewis and Hopeton Dunn.
 
The Issue focuses on the seminal role played by political activists from the Caribbean region in the promulgation and communication of Pan African ideas to the world. It also provides a deeper understanding of the role and contribution made by activists from the Caribbean. Contributions are made by several UWI scholars such as:  Dr. Clinton Hutton, Professor Rupert Lewis, Professor Hopeton Dunn, Dr.  Mawuena Logan and Dr. Maureen Warner-Lewis alongside Brown University Professor, Anthony Bogues.  
 
The university community and the public are invited to attend the Launch.
