The UWI Mona Campus, through the Department of Community Health and Psychiatry is the venue for a two week course in International Relations and Diplomacy organised by the Consular Corps of Jamaica and the Institute of International Relations based in Paris France.  The course was officially opened on Monday morning, June 2, by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Hon. The course is designed for persons appointed as Consuls, Honorary Consuls and Consuls General. Its objectives include making participants aware of the inter-relationships among states especially small states such as Jamaica; and how World Organisations such as the United Nations, work, and their relevant to civil society.  The course will also update participants on their changing roles in response to the new paradigm shift in international relations.
