The Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts will host a summer programme for children 6 to 12 years called Kreative Kids. The programme runs from July 7 to August 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. It will focus on the creative arts with sessions in creative writing, music, dance, drama, and art and craft. These will be delivered by persons who are trained in the specific areas and will include sessions with distinguished persons. The participants will also take part in field trips to the National Gallery, and to craft industry sites to see such items as pottery being made. They will also visit JCDC festival events. At the end of the programme the children will mount an exhibition and concert to showcase their talents. Kreative Kids will cost $12,000 which includes all materials, field trips and entry fees. There is also a registration fee of $500 which includes the cost of a Kreative Kidz t-shirt. Lunch is not included in these costs. Registration is now open and all participants who register by June 27 will receive a 10% discount. Children of UWI employees receive a 12.5% discount.
