Peter Tosh Symposium 2012

“Peter Tosh –Reggae Revolutionary and Equal Rights Advocate” is the title of the 2012 Symposium hosted by UWI, Mona to honour the legacy of Peter Tosh and celebrate the anniversary of Tosh’s birth on October 19, 1944. It is also an occasion to acknowledge the contribution of Tosh for his contribution to Reggae music as evidenced by being conferred the Order of Merit, posthumously. The Symposium is slated to coincide with Tosh’s birthday on October 19 at 6 pm at the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre (N1), The UWI, Mona. 
 
This year’s panel features: Herbie Miller, former manager of Peter Tosh, and Curator of the Jamaica Music Museum,  Dr. Clinton Hutton, musicologist, and lecturer in the Department of Government,  Professor Carolyn Cooper, former director of the Reggae Studies Unit at UWI, Mona and Niambe and Dave Tosh, Peter Tosh’s children.
