Dr. Carissa Etienne (Class of ’76) has been appointed Assistant Director of Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) effective July 3. Dr. Etienne, a General Practitioner and Medical School Professor, has a strong background in public health. A national of Dominica, she holds a medical degree from the University of the West Indies and a Master’s degree in Community Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
