Book Launch

The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies, SALISES will launch two books this week on the Mona Campus. The books are Independent Thought and Caribbean Freedom: Essays in Honour of Lloyd Best edited by Professor Selwyn Ryan of SALISES, St. Augustine Campus; and Deadlock: Ethnicity and Electoral Competition in Trinidad and Tobago 1995- 2002, authored by Professor Ryan. The launch will take place on August 27 starting at 5.30 p.m. in the Multi-functional Room, at the Main Library, UWI, Mona Campus. Featured speakers will include Professor Aggrey Brown, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, speaking on Independent Thought and Mr. Robert Buddan, Lecturer, Department of Government who will speak about Deadlock. The public is invited to this double event.
