Dr. Aloo Asotsi Mojola, lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Kenya and Africa Inter-Regional Translation Coordinator of the United Bible Societies will deliver a Distinguished Lecture on “Translation of the Bible into African Languages”. The Lecture will take place on Tuesday, September 16 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts.
Dr. Mojola supervised the translation of the Biblical text into a variety of African Languages. His lecture will include some of the core socio-cultural, theological, historical and linguistic issues that must be taken into consideration where Biblical text is to be translated into African Languages. The UWI, Mona Campus Chapel Management Committee will host the visit of Dr. Mojola to Jamaica from September 12-19.
