Congratulations to Jenice Daley
While the majority of track and field enthusiasts were tuned to the 9th World Athletes Championships held in St. Denis, Paris, France, Jamaican athletes, coached by UWI’s Michael Ollivierre, were quietly representing their country at the World University Games in Daegu, South Korea, between August 21 and 31. Jenice Daley, one of two UWI students on the team placed third in the 200m in a time of 23.55 giving Jamaica its only medal. The other members of the team were Toni-Ann D’Oyley (UWI), Marvin Essor, (GC Foster College) and who’s father is a Sergeant of Police at the Mona Police Post and Mr. Edwin Murray (Vice Principal, GC Foster College) who was Head of the Delegation.
