History of the Panama Canal Presentation

In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Panama, the Embassy of Panama will present copies of "History of the Panama Canal" autographed by the Administrator of the
Canal, to Principal of the Mona Campus, Professor Kenneth Hall and Dr Simon Clarke. This presentation will take place on the occasion of an Exhibition of Photographs depicting West Indian participation in the Construction of the Panama Canal, to be held on Tuesday, November 4 at 6.00pm in the Multifunctional Room of the Main Library on the UWI Mona Campus. This event has been organized to commemorate the contribution of English-speaking Caribbean nationals to the construction of the Canal and the building of the Panamanian nation. This important aspect of our regional history was the subject of the First in the Intra-Regional Migration Seminar Series organized by the Latin American-Caribbean Centre (LACC), UWI in June, 2000.
