City Life in Caribbean History
The Third Text and Testimony Collective Conference on “City Life in Caribbean History” will take place from December 11-13 at the Cave Hill Campus.
There will be ten panel discussions beginning Thursday, December 11 with “Emergence of Bridgetown/Caribbean Towns” and “Voices of the Urban People”. On Friday, December 12 the topics are: “Gender and City Life”; “Culture in the City” and “Health and City Life”. The topics on Saturday, December 13 are: “Philosophising Urban Spaces”; “Urban Working Class Popular Movements and Protests”; “Education Philanthropy and City Life” and “Transnational Urban Diaspora”. The Conference will also feature two plenary sessions by Professor Hilary Beckles, Principal of the Cave Hill Campus and Professor David Trotman of York University, Toronto.
