The Jamaican Association for Distance and Open Learning (JADOL) will be hosting a one-day seminar entitled “Looking to the Future: Mobile Technology in Support of Distance Education” on Wednesday, November 19 from 8:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Terra Nova Hotel. Speakers at the seminar will be Ms. Nancy Gilligan, of IBM, Mrs. Sonia Bennett-Cunningham, HEART/NTA and Mr. Anthony Smith, of Cable and Wireless. The Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Culture, Senator Noel Monteith will give the opening address and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce Sciences and Technology, Dr. Jean Dixon will bring greetings on behalf of her ministry. The cost of the seminar including lunch is $2500 for non-member of JADOL and $2000 for members. Organizations sending three or more persons will be entitled to a 10% discount.
