Support Group for Graduate Students
The Counselling Service on the UWI, Mona Campus is organising a support group for Graduate Students working on their dissertations. The group is intended to provide a supportive environment allowing students to discuss the challenges they are facing, share coping tips, learn about UWI resources, and thereby learn key skills for surviving the process. An initial session will take place on Thursday, November 27 in the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre (N1), Faculty of Humanities and Education at 2.00 p.m.
At the meeting the organisers, led by counsellor, Dr. Peter Weller will give an overview of the predictable dynamics and adjustments to be expected. In this and subsequent sessions, lessons learned will be shared by those who are going through or have been through the process. Presentations will be made by representatives of resource centres and services especially those typically underutilized by students. At the end of these sessions, those who wish to be a part of the support group will be registered. For further information, contact the Counselling Service 970-1992 or exts. 2270 or 2370.
