International Volunteers’ Day
The University of the West Indies Mona Campus will celebrate International Volunteers’ Day on Friday, December 5 at the August Town Primary School beginning at 9:00 a.m. Activities will include a Panel Discussion entitled Poverty Alleviation through Volunteerism, Education and Cooperation. Panellists will include Dr. Clinton Hutton, Lecturer, Department of Government, Dr. Ian Boxill, Head, Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work and Professor Barry Chevannes, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The UWI Mona Campus will mount an exhibition on volunteerism at UWI and members of the August Town Community will display craft items and clothing.
