Masters of Science in Family Medicine
The Department of Community Health and Psychiatry, Faculty of Medical Sciences at UWI Mona is inviting applications for entry to its Masters of Science in Family Medicine. This programme which is taught mainly by distance is being offered in recognition of the demand for medical practitioners in general medical practice to upgrade their skills and maintain excellent health care in the 21st century. The programme consists of course work by distance education and participation one day per week at clinical sessions. A research project is also required in the final year. The progamme requires significant self-directed learning as well as attendance at small group tutorials. It is offered to registered and licensed doctors in public and or private medical general practice and must be completed in a minimum of three years. Applications from public sector staff members must be accompanied by supporting letters from the ministry or department concerned.
