Certificate in Labour Studies
The University of The West Indies, School of Continuing Studies is inviting applications for its Certificate in Labour Studies Programme for the academic year 2004-2005. The programme will consist of courses to be offered through face to face teaching at the local University Centre, through the Trade Union Education Institute (TUEI) of the School of Continuing Studies. Requirements for entry are successful completion of the four-week course in Labour Studies offered by the TUEI or its equivalent, and two years experience in an appointed/elected position in a trade union AND an acceptable pass in CXC/GCE English Language, or a qualification from a recognized institution acceptable to TUEI.
Application forms and information on matters related to requirements for entry, fees, etc. are obtainable from the TUEI, Gibraltar Camp Way, UWI, Mona, Kingston 7, Jamaica and all University Centres/Schools of Continuing Studies across the region. Applications are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of JA$350.00. The deadline date by which completed application forms should be returned is Friday May 14, 2004. The offering of the above-mentioned programme is subject to the availability of adequate numbers of qualified persons.
