Annual Nursing Midwifery Conference and Mary Seivwright Day
The Department of Advanced Nursing Education (DANE), University of the West Indies (UWI), will host its Annual Nursing Midwifery Conference and Mary Seivwright Day May 13 & 14, 2004 on the Mona Campus. The theme of the conference is “Nurses Challenging Health Issues Through Research”. Conference sessions will be held simultaneously in the Social Sciences, Inter- Faculty and Chemistry (C5) Lecture Theatres. The highlight of the conference will be the launch of the Mary Seivwright Distinguished Nursing Research Lecture by Dr. Carol Baxter, Professor of Nursing at the School of Health and Social Sciences and Head of the Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Research and Development, Middlesex University, London, England.
Dr. Baxter has been appointed a Visiting Professor to the UWI and will present the keynote address at the conference. She will deliver a public lecture on May 20, 2004 at the Main Medical Lecture Theatre from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in addition to other academic activities.
