The first General Meeting of the Caribbean Academy of Sciences, Jamaica Chapter will be held on January 22, 2004 in the Chemistry Lecture Theatre, C5, UWI, Mona, beginning at 2.30 p.m. All members and interested persons are invited to attend. Persons who have been nominated for membership may pay their dues at the meeting and interested persons may apply for membership. Items on the agenda include nominations to the executive and discussions on the structure of the Jamaica Chapter. The keynote address titled “Foresight-based Strategies for Research and Development” will be delivered by Professor Anthony Clayton, Alcan Professor of Sustainable Caribbean Development, Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies., UWI, Mona.
