Professor Trevor Munroe
Dr. Trevor Munroe, Professor of Government and Politics at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, recently returned to the island after making a presentation on corruption and anti-corruption measures in Jamaica to a World Bank staff retreat in Washington. Professor Munroe had been invited by the Bank to participate in the annual week-long retreat of the Bank’s Public Sector Management specialists in the Latin American and Caribbean department. The programme reviewed the World Bank’s overall strategy in contributing to combating corruption globally and carried out an in-depth examination of two case studies – Mexico and Jamaica. Professor Munroe’s paper stimulated much discussion and received commendations from the Bank’s participants.
