Commemoration Celebrations

The UWI, Mona Campus is once again organising celebrations to commemorate the founding of the Institution and is also observing Alumni Week. The celebrations continue this week with the inaugural Graduate Students’ Conference, to be held at Mona from February 19 to 20. The conference has been organized by the UWI Mona Association of Postgraduate Students and the School for Graduate Studies and Research, in collaboration with the Research Consortium. The theme of the Conference is “Graduate Studies and Research: Imperatives for Regional Growth and Development”.
Other activities this week include the CARIMAC Alumni exhibition starting Monday, February 16 at CARIMAC and the Communication Matters Forum to be held on Saturday, February 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at CARIMAC. The public and CARIMAC Alumni are invited to attend. The Mona School of Business Alumni will also host a seminar on Wednesday, February 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Executive Lecture Theatre, Sir Alistair McIntyre Building. On the same day the Medical Alumni will also host a conference in the Main Medical Lecture Theater from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The topic is “D/C – A Minor Operation? The high point of the celebrations is the Dinner/Dance to honour Professor Nettleford to be held at the Mona Visitors Lodge and Conference Centre on Friday, February 20. Tickets for the Commemoration Concert and Pelican Awards as well as the Dinner/Dance are available from the Public Relations Office at UWI Mona and from Monarch Pharmacy in Liguanea.
