The Vice Chancellor’s Cricket Week of Activities
The Vice Chancellor’s Cricket Week of Activities will begin this Sunday, February 29 with the British High Commission playing a UWI Alumni team starting at 11:00 a.m. The week continues on Monday, March 1 with the women’s cricket match starting 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday, the Tertiary Level Institution’s match will begin at 9:30 a.m. while on Wednesday, February 3, the Combined Universities Team will play the Jamaica XI starting at 9:30 a.m. The venue for these matches is the Frank Worrell Cricket Ground at the Mona Bowl and admission is free. The Vice Chancellor’s Cricket match will take place from Friday, March 5 to Sunday March 7 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The match will involve the Vice Chancellor’s XI vs. England. Admission to this match which will also be at the Frank Worrell Cricket Ground is $300 for the covered stands and $200 for general seating. Other activities for the Vice Chancellor’s Cricket Week are a Photographic Exhibition which is being mounted in the Catalogue Hall of the Main Library and will be opened on Tuesday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. Cricket fans are also invited to view a film of Brian Lara’s Sri Lankan innings on Thursday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Multi Functional Room of the Main Library.
