Forum on Environmental Sustainability through Education
The School of Education, UWI Mona will present a forum titled Environmental Sustainability through Education on Monday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts at Mona. The forum organisor and lecturer at the Institute of Education at Mona, Marceline Collins-Figueroa, says the forum is necessary, because there are a number of organizations working in environmental education in Jamaica and it will bring together these Institutions and the persons involved in this area to share information on their individual projects and to begin the process of assessing the state of environmental education in Jamaica. The presenters will include Professor of Environmental Management at UWI, Dr. Elizabeth Thomas-Hope, as well as Principal of Shortwood Teachers College, Mrs. Elaine Foster-Allen. Chief Executive Officer of Jamaica Environment Trust, Mrs. Diana McCauley and Executive Director of the Caribbean Coastal Area Management Foundation, Peter Espuet will also do presentations.
