Youth Support Jamaica 5th International Conference
Youth Support Jamaica will hosts its 5th International Conference on Adolescent Health and Welfare from August 18 to 20 on the UWI Mona Campus. Youth Support Jamaica is a charitable organisation (NGO) which forms part of the international charity, Youth Support. It aims to provide services for families, children and young people; to provide a support network for professionals working with youth; and thirdly to teach and educate both young people themselves and professionals in matters concerning adolescent health and welfare. The conference will involve lectures, workshops, discussion groups as well as poster presentations on a variety of topics of interest to youth. Topics to be discussed include Pregnancy and Parenthood; Youth Media, Music and Creativity; Youth and the Law and Substance Abuse. Presentations will come from international experts as well as youth themselves. Youth Support Jamaica is offering several free spaces to students from UWI Mona. They are also inviting students to send in ideas and abstracts for presentation.
