Scent of An Oak
The Latin American-Caribbean Centre of The University of the West Indies in association with the Distinguished Embassy of Cuba and CuJam Enterprises Ltd cordially invites you to the viewing of the film Scent of an Oak and presentation by Director Rigoberto Lopez Pego, Film Produced by the Cuban Institute of Cinema Art and Industry-ICAIC on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the New Education Lecture Theatre (NELT), UWI. Parking will be available in the Faculty of Humanities and Education parking lot, opposite Mary Seacole Hall of Residence. Admission is free. The film is in English with Spanish subtitles. “Scent of an Oak” is set in the first half of the 19th century in Cuba. Ursula Lambert, a beautiful and distinguished black woman from Haiti and a romantic German tradesman are the two main characters in this story of boundless love that made the richest coffee plantation in Cuba -- Angerona -- reach its peak.
