“Wind and Rain, the Hurricane Expo”
June 1 marks the beginning of the 2004 hurricane season and Safety and Emergency Management Systems in association with UWI, Mona will launch an Awareness and Preparedness Initiative on the Mona Campus. This will take the form of an exposition to be held on Friday May 28 under the theme, “Wind and Rain, the Hurricane Expo”. The objective is to expose members of the campus community to all the available options that can be used to prepare for the hurricane season. Exhibitors will include medical supplies distributors, hardware merchants, supermarket chains, distribution companies, financial institutions, disaster management agencies, health and medical services, maintenance services and records management services. Activities will take place from 10:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon. There will be a brief opening ceremony at 2:00 in the afternoon. The location for the exposition is the lawn north of the Senate Building. Members of the university community are invited to attend.
